It is the final meeting of our each one teach one course. We were gathered at the TAMK cafeteria and talked something about the transportation. Here are some basic vocabulary of the transportation:
Through the transportation, we could predict a country’s development, because most of the Chinese would ride their bike on the rode before the reform, forty years later, we have every thing of the transportation as the western countries have. And the high speed train is the most common transportation in China, the speed could reach to 400Km/ h,which means it just cost you almost 3 hours from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. Timi was so surprise to hear that and he want to try the speed train once in China.
It is the ninth time for our each one teach one course meeting. We were talked about the different fruits and vegetables in our different nations, just some normal fruits are as the following:
The reason why we learned these fruits and vegetables is that we would buy something like these when we were traveling in different nation, on the other hand, we find it is interesting to learn another language. Timi said that banana is the most popular fruit in his country, I think so, because I like it very much. We still talked the history of the Kivi fruit, most of the people may know the Kivi is from Singapore, to tell the truth, Kivi is just improved in Singapore and t is original in Sichuan province of China.
Here is our eighth time meeting of each one teach one course. We have harvested some Knowledge about the date. Here are some vocabulary we have managed:
We have learn the different expressing methods of the mouth and week. In China, we have another method to record the time, we call it Chinese lunar calendar, which is similar to the normal calendar. The history of the lunar calendar is follow the moon revolves around the earth and it is wildly used in the countryside of China.
It is the seventh time for our each one teach one course. We were meeting at the class room in TAMK after the lessons. The main topic of our meeting was to talk something about the numbers:
Certainly, there are some rules to follow when we are studying the numbers in different nations. In Slovenia, The numbers from 1 to 10 are the most basic words to remember. Then, from 11 to 19, najst should be added to the behind of the basic numbers, like Ednajst, which means 11. The numbers from 21to 29 should follow the rule Number + in+duajset, like ena in duajset, 21. The numbers 30to 90 should add deset behind the basic word.
After learning the rules of how to match the numbers, I find it is very especially to remember, but one thing is important, we have to remember to basic words from 0 to 10.
This is the sixth meeting of the Each one teach one course and we were meeting at TAMK cafeteria. We main learned some basic animals vocabulary and talked about the pets in our own nation. Here are some animal words:
More over, we have talked the most popular animal in Slovenia and China. In Slovenia, dog is the most popular animal and people take care their dog as their children, however, dog is just a normal pet in China and they maybe killed for food in some areas. Definitely, panda is the most popular animal in China, for the panda looks so cute and they are endangered animal on the earth. What’s more, there are a lot of traditional cultures in China, there are twelve animals belongs to each year, everybody in China would have their own animal. My animal is pig, the animal of Timi is Ox.
It is the fifth time for our each one teach one team to meet, the main subject of the meeting was to learn the colors. The reason why we learned the color vocabulary is that we can name different color’s materials when traveling in Slovenia or China. The color in Slovene is Barua, and in Chinese is 颜色 (yan se), what a big difference between them. We have learned some basic words of the colors, for instance:
Usually the red color in Slovene is Rdeoa barua, and in Chinese is 红色(hong se), which is a quite similar matching. Timi has also taught us some sentences like Kaksne barue je t noun ? which means What color is his shirt?, certainly in Chinese, it is 他衬衫的颜色是什么(ta chen shan de yan se shi shen me) ? What’s more, we have talked about the special meanings of the colors in China, like the yellow color, most of the emperors in ancient time of China would choose yellow as representative to show off their power, for instance, the Forbidden city in the central of Beijing, which is decorated with the yellow color. Also, China is a country with the red gene, like the Chinese national flag, where the five yellow stars with a red back ground. So much of this.
All in all, It is good chance for our to study the color stories in different nations.
It’s the forth meeting of our each one teach one course, we were meeting at TUT gym and had a wonderful table tennis competition.
Before our match, we had a good understanding of China and Slovenia table tennis development background. In China, nowadays table tennis are widely spread to every schools, even a 6 year old boy can play the ping-pong well. Certainly, Chinese table players have won the gold medals for several Olympic games. Sloven people also like playing table tennis, the main idea is for exercise.
The competition end, Timi has won the games for twice, and I have won the game for three times. It is really a good chance for us to understand different nation’s physical culture!
It’s the second time for us to have a learning meeting together at TuT library, the main ideas of the meeting are to learn some orientation and family appellation words. The reason why we supposed to learn such kind of words is that our friend Timi are willing to have a trip in Asian countries, including China, Japan and South Korea. We hope that Timi can have a good sense of the direction and a pleasant journey in a foreign country.
Orientation: Slovene – Chinese – English
Family Appellation: Slovene – Chinese – English
Some of the appellation words in Slovene or Chinese have the same pronunciation, but with different writing styles, like Mama-妈妈-Mom, which is easier for us to learn and remember. From that, So we know the progress of the culture of the world is a process to learn from each other.
In our second Each one teach one meeting at TUT library. We found that the pronunciation of the alphabet in Chinese and Slovene are different, therefore, we prepare some materials to have a good understanding of the different pronounce.
Chinese alphabet ( Slovene alphabet)
A a , B b, C c, C che, D d, E ei, F f, G g, H he, I i, J ye, K k, L l, M m, N n,
O o, P p, R r, S se, S she, T t, U u, V vo, Z zi, Z ri,
Some pronounce of the alphabets in Slovene are quite special for me to do that, like R, which is similar to Finnish R, I have no idea to pronounce such kind of special pronunciation. But my friend Timi helped me a lot, every time I make mistakes in pronunciation, he always corrected me. So happy to learn a foreign language with them.
What a beautiful day it is! I met my new friend Timi today at TAMK cafeteria , who comes from Slovenia. It is a great honor for me to teach a foreign student Chinese in Finland.
