My group consists of another finnish girl and a czech guy to whom we’re trying to teach some basics of finnish language and culture. The first time we met we went to the Pyynikin näkötorni to eat some delicious doughnuts. Since we didn’t know each other at all before hand, we tought it best to start by getting to know each other and set a good atmosphere to be learning in.
We did not get to much of the actual finnish teaching at this point, but we did learn that it is very hard for a finnish person to produce some of the sounds in the czech language. And though the languages are very different, the basic pronounciation in czech makes it easy to read finnish out loud (even if you have no idea what you’re saying).
