For our second meeting on Thrusday Camille,Somaya and I headed to Särkänniemi and to Näsinneula so look over the city we all share at the moment. We went up to the tower to enjoy some hot chocolate and look at the views.
We didn’t have anything special planned so we started with some basic phrases and words to learn in Finnish, French and German.
- Hot Chocolate (en) = Chocolat Chaud (fr) = heiße Schokolade (Ge) = kaakao (fi)
- My name is (En) = Je m’appelle (Fr) = Ich heiße (Ge) = Nimeni on (Fi)
- Hi, How are you ? (En) = Salut, Comment ça va ? (Fr) = Hallo, Wie geht es dir ? (Ge) = Hei, mitä kuuluu ? (Fi)
- Nice to meet you (En) = Ravi de te rencontrer (Fr) = Sehr erfreut (Ge) = Hauska tavata (Fi)
It’s not much but a good start and we had fun trying to pronounce everyhting the right way. I’m really looking forward to our next meeting that’s going to take place in the new burger restaurant Friends & Brgrs that I happen to be working.
