First meeting at the Wayne’s Coffee

Today we had our first meeting at the Wayne’s. We get into the point quite directly. We both had like zero level language skills so we started at the basics. It felt hard at first to say out loud and I stammered much but I started feeling enthusiasm about the pronunciation of German when I felt like enunciated it right (not sure how it really went).

By writing the words and phrases down in new language, it is much easier to understand the pronunciation and links between similar words. German and Finnish are not too different languages at pronunciation but it is a challenge to remember when it is the same and when it is not. Also “new” letters and how to say the common ones in German is challenging (as a Finn).

Next time we will try to communicate both in German and Finnish without looking the paper!
